Raising eco-conscious citizens for a better tomorrow
ROSSINCA IS AN ECO-SCHOOL
At Rossinca, we are proud to be an Eco-School. Environmental responsibility is woven into our values, guiding students to care for the world around them through everyday habits, hands-on learning, and school-wide participation.
As part of our Earth Day project, children wrote heartfelt letters beginning with “Dear Earth, I promise…” Each student created a handmade card with a personal pledge - like not littering, saving water, or protecting the forest. These sincere promises reflect their early steps toward becoming responsible global citizens.
From the classroom to the lunch table, we nurture a deep respect for nature and a lifelong commitment to sustainability.

REAL STEPS. REAL IMPACT. THE ROSSINCA WAY.

SUSTAINABILITY IN ACTION
At Rossinca, sustainability isn’t just a topic - it’s a way of life. We integrate eco-conscious habits into daily routines, from classroom lessons to lunch practices.
Through the 5RS - REFUSE, REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE, AND ROT - students learn to sort waste, reuse materials creatively, and make mindful choices.
LOW-WASTE LUNCH PROGRAM
To support our sustainability efforts at mealtime, we encourage the use of reusable lunch containers, bottles, and utensils.
We also work closely with Rusivada, our trusted hot lunch provider, to minimize packaging waste and model sustainable food practices.

OCEAN PLASTIC POLLUTION SUMMIT PARTICIPATION
Rossinca students participate every other year in the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Ocean Plastic Pollution Summit, joining peers from across CA to showcase our sustainability efforts. Through our Single-Use Plastic Reduction Project, students creatively reuse over 10,000 plastic utensils, turning waste into art. The summit includes inspiring talks, time at the aquarium, and an overnight stay - empowering students to make a real environmental impact.
